Pls verify the current sound card that you are using now. Is it Creative Vibra 128, Yamaha Etc. If possible can you post your /dmesg output. Maybe we can verify from there whats wrong with your card. The possibility chances could be your sound card is not compatible, or the settings of the card is incorrect. Either thing you may also check the webpage for the list of h/ware requirements :-
