XP Pro + WS-FTP-LE + NIS2005 Issues
Hi all,
Am running WinXP Pro SP2. And previously had been running Norton Internet Security 2003 and using WS-FTP-LE very successfully. But sad comedy of events in a recent move; I'd missed placed my NIS2003 disks and required to reinstall the same. So I purchased NIS2005. NIS2005 install was a breeze; IE and other applications have had no problems, with the exception of WS-FTP-LE. When attempting a connection it just sits there. Disable NIS and connection is like it used to be, quick, fast and as expected. Does anyone or has anyone else come across a similar problem. I'm not incluned to disable NIS just for the sake of WS-FTP-LE working - seems more like a redundant work-around. |

Does standard ftp command work from a "cmd" session?
If not you might need to go into NIS and explicity allow ports 20 and 21 - might be disabled by default... I've only used NIS2003 like yourself, and never had problems with FTP. |

Try removing all information regarding WS-FTP-LE from NIS 2005. Then try and run WS-FTP-LE and see if NIS 2005 warns you about the program running. You may then be able to configure the connection.
