Not too shabby.

I'd probably write this:

cat list | grep naughty >nogiftlist
cat list | grep nice >giftlist

like this:

>nogiftlist grep naughty list
>giftlist grep nice list

Saves two processes

lol...well done! I'm not sure who did the original one, but yours is definitely an improvement.

Here is another one you all have probably seen...
If this is too off-color, I apologize. It's all legitimate UNIX though.
