Hi,

I hope I could make a thread that talks about SUVs. If not, you could delete this thread. Anyway, I'm trying to pick a SUV for my dad and sister. My dad likes Lexus GX470 and my sister likes BMW X5 3.0i. They asked me which one is better, good or popular the GX470 or the X5 3.0i. They don't care how much they are. I'd go with you all if the GX470 has more votes, or the X5 3.0i does. I need to make a final decision by Monday.

Neo dont underestimate German's They have always been great innovators of automobiles, their specialization is not SUV's though, Americans are best in SUV range i think, but OP asked to compare 2006 BMW X5 3.0i and 2006 Lexus GX470, I'll suggest BM for its sporty design and low price.

In addition the bmw's second tailpipe in it's "dual" exhaust is obviously fake from about 10 feet away. Disappointing.
If you are not cost minded the infiniti series(fx35/45) is quite interesting as well.although they have the trademark throaty exhaust noise... when the windows are down it is annoying, when they are up you cannot hear it.
