That's a bit like asking how long a piece of string is!
Different companies will pay differently to other companies. How much you get paid depends more on who you work for than what you know. It also depends on where you live. I'm pretty sure an AIX admin doesn't earn as much in Thailand as in Switzerland, but then in Switzerland you can't take a bus across town for 12 baht! In the U.S. $5000/month would be in the ballpark for a junior AIX admin. A senior position should pay well over that. Check sage.org for their latest salary survey information. SAGE Salary Surveys
