My first post Here

I received an email stating that I had not been active for a while. Well I've never really contributed very much. I was first exposed to UNIX when I was working for Perkin Elmer in 1984. The was one of the first systems that was not DEC that UNIX was ported to. It was done at Wollongong university. You can find on Google. They bought it because it was cheaper than DEC also 32 bit not 16 bit. A loverly PE 7/32. The company sold their version of unix called Xelos. If I can remember. it was very slow. For many years I was terrified of the whole thing. They used to say be careful one command & you can wipe out the whole system.
A few years later, a bit more knowledge and no-where to use it.
A lot of people think because they know something about windows that they all about computers. Windows has to be the most MIckey mouse os That I could think of.
It's like the compost heap. When it gets bad the only was to fix it is to pull it apart and start again. Microsoft have got/are getting themselves into a hole and they don't know to get out.
Windows xp/vista win7 are all basically the same thing. If the whole thing was built on a Linux kernel and registry was removed it might be ok.
