HTML help required

I need to use tab in html.

I tried for  (space), is there any technique for printing tab.

The only thing I can think of is
On the other hand, it sounds like your page layout suffers from a design flaw: it is virtually never necessary to add tabs. Use padding-left or a table instead. Tabs are unsuitable for web page layout, if that is your goal.

Well this is generally true but it could be a literal tab in a command or file format that is displayed, in which case it could be appropriate to use the ampersand code
as you suggested, but in that scenario I would probably use
HTML Code:
<pre>text to be displayed</pre>

For what purpose?

You could try a hard tab in a <pre> environment; I haven't tried it.

Are you trying to use tabs to line up columns in a web page? If so, you show use an invisible table instead.
