Sounds like "Back to the Future", or maybe "forward into the past". I've read a few articles on this subject. It is interesting and undoubtedly useful under the right circumstances. New business models have already been leveraged on cloud implementations! At the same time it is, fundamentally, a new twist on the old concept of "time sharing". The sharing (by many users) of remote computing resources that are more powerful than those you have available locally. I'm not criticizing it. Only noting that fashions aren't the only thing that come around again eventually :-).
