X11 problem
Hey guys,

I'm on a Solaris 9 boxes and I setup Putty to do X11 forwarding I can get my Xmanager to connect and load Xwindows screens fine. But, sometimes if I lose my putty connection or the app im running crashes X freaks out and deletes my display, setting it to nothing. When I add my display settings and try to run another X app i get (explicit kill or server shutdown) errors and I know I set it up correctly because I have gotten it to work before. Then, sometimes an hour or 2 or 3 hours it will timeout the app or something and let me back in.

Any ideas on how to fix this faster like restarting X11 on the server or something?

I was using xmanager 2.0 now im using reflection x 14 and it works everytime I have no idea what the heck was going on but reflection is tight so im using that.. just incase anyone else runs into this problem with xmanager 2.0

XManager 2.0 is full of bugs. I'm unable to create java Swing components without causing all kinds of undesired effects.

Problem with X11 Root Window

At school, on an HP-UX or B.11.11 U 9000/785 system, my X11 root window is always set to 8-bit color, but all the child windows are 24-bit.
