This is a Unix/Linux forum Smilie Maybe check if the process is up on the win box? Or check via the Netbackup Master what is being reported in the job monitor.

Sorry but I don't understand what has Veritas in common with windows server? As I know Veritas is SCO filesystem.

Veritas is a company that has different products. Afaik it is bought by Symantec. They also sold/sell Veritas Netbackup, a network backup software like TSM or any other backup software.

Veritas Netbackup is a software through which we are backing up important data in server environment .

we are using veritas Netbackup 6.0 and backing up windows 2000 server data from the local drive .

We use Netbackup but I am no Netbackup admin. Though it is as I already described. Use on Windows the Taskmanager and see if at least the process for the backup agent is running. On the Netbackup Master Server you have a report and monitor where you can check the status of jobs, if they run etc..
If you just start a test backup, you will see what error you get from your specific client and I know that you can click details to get more info about the reason something is not working.
