Data Installation problems!

Hello,

I just wanted to install a red hat on my pc, it says that it can not find a file! and i should click return! When I click ok or I use esc, it does not work! Just the error page returns!!

and then i formated my pc due to this error Smilie
plz help me!

It would help greatly if you post your errors so that we can help diagnose.

Also, How are you installing from a CD or a floppy. What type of PC is it?

Any info you can post would help greatly.

Hi,
Thanks for the replies..

I removed all partitions, beacuse it was saying you should choose a root partition! I didn't know how to choose!
After that I just began to install it for my pc from CD. It's Red hat version 7.3. It said that a file(it selected the path also) can not be opened!! I do not remember exactly what was the error! But I couldn't even cancel the installation!

Can you help me please?Smilie I'm very interested in Unix and I like to have it on my pc as soon as possible to make a good networking in my office.

How could I choose a root partition?!Smilie (/) ??!!

If I can have it with windows at the same time, I can start to install it again to see the exact error and tell you! Does it require a format or not?!

Now I'm using Windows XP professional.

Also I decided to make a new partition, then it said " Could not allocate request partitions. Partitioning failed!"

when I choose a mount point it saiys:
" This mount point must be on a linux filesystem!"
