Terminal doesnt start

Hi everyone,

I'm pretty new using UNIX, but a friend of mine was helping me configure the unix terminal on my mac, and he changed some stuff on the bash profile .bash_profile. Everything was going well until I shut my computer and restarted it. When I opened the terminal this time this is what happened:

diego:~ diego$ /Users/diego/Desktop/list; exit
-bash: /Users/diego/Desktop/list: No such file or directory
logout
[Process exited - exit code 127]

Any idea on how to fix this??

thx

If you can edit the file from the GUI, just get rid of the 'exit' command.
If you can't, you can probably fix it by temporarily renaming your bash profile. FTP into the box as diego, then use the rename or move command to rename .bash_profile to something else. You might then need to log right out and back in.
If that doesn't work, log in as a different user (admin or root say) and rename the file that way.
