setting up internet server
Hello,

Corrently we are useing winproxy to use internet. my client desktops connects to winproxy using tcpip and get the access, now we have changed windows opreating system to linux 7.1. my problem is i am able to connect internet on linux machine but now i wants all clients connect to linux machine and get the internet access.
In windows winproxy is the application for all clients to connect internet but in linux i don't know which application will work as winproxy.

Here at the house I am using Squid for HTTP proxying at it works very well. I am also using AdZapper with Squid and it rocks. Squid 2.3 is running under OpenBSD 2.9 and I didn't have any problems setting it up.

I haven't tried running any other SOCKS proxy server, though. I can only speak for Squid for HTTP.

Linux for an internet server to an ISP

I just moved away from a T3 line back to a dial up I just wanted to know would a P200 with 64meg and a 4 gig hard drive be ok for a linux server for an additional 3 pcs all running win98. I will be dialing into an isp using a 56k v90 modem. Any support or help will be great. (3 Replies)
