Computer Limit Folder Size

Is there a way to limit a certain folder size(e.g. Documents, Desktop)?

What system? On Solaris, you can turn on accounting (acct family of commands). Check the man pages (man acct) for details.

Sorry for not putting it up, I want to run a script on my server(OSX) to limit
the Desktop size of all my users.
