trap command

Dear All
could you please explain me what does the trap command do and how I can write a program which can work as a trap command(in C Language).

trap enables signal handling. It makes the script execute a command instead of responding in a default way to the signal. Normally the INTR (ctrl/c) command means to quit. You can ask trap to make the signal do something else - not terminate your program, for example.

The simplest way (not necessarily the best) is to use the signal system call.

Try man signal
