How to configure a network workstation to a standalone?

Hi,
I have a networked ultra 5 workstation(using NIS) that I would like to be able to :
1. Reconfigure to standalone workstation,
2. and be able to switch back to a network workstation when the needs required.

Please advise.

I did a search in this forum and found that I can use 'sys-unconfig' to set it back to a standalone machine. Do I need to backup some other files related to network NIS setup before I run this command? Like 'dommainname', 'nsswitch.conf', etc... ?
thx

That sys-unconfig is really for wiping out some stuff to make a new machine. It's gonna reboot the machine and make you type some stuff in. You just want it off the network right? How about just turning off NIS? I assume you have root on it and you can make a local account, home dir, etc. After you're done with whatever you're doing, just turn NIS back on again.

I think you can do ypstop and ypstart.
