Versions of UNIX

Hi all:

I was just wondering if someone could tell me what versions of UNIX are available to public? I'm aware of all the available distro's for Linux e.g. Debain, SuSe, RedHat, etc ... However you never really here much about UNIX distro's! Is UNIX BDS a common one in use?

Thanks

Oliver

This is because UNIX is an OS the same way a conceptual drawing is an airplane. Various *NIXes have varying degrees of POSIX/UNIX compliance. Unless I'm mistaken, the BSD's might be among the purest -- lots of standards seem to originate with 4.2BSD -- but Linux or Solaris are nothing to sneeze at either.
