Pass a "Y" to dpkg-reconfigure?

Greetings!

Putting on my "dummy" hat here; as I'm sure this one is absolutely drop-dead simple Smilie

OK. Here's the commandline which I've been able to cobble together so far:
Code:
dpkg-reconfigure --frontend=readline --terse -plow unattended-upgrades

Now, being totally out of my element here, I tried:
Code:
Y | dpkg-reconfigure --frontend=readline --terse -plow unattended-upgrades

...with the expected results (an unmitigated mess on the terminal).

The real goal: To call dpkg-reconfigure -plow unattended-upgrades and simply have it exit with the desired "Yes" automagically passed in...

How might one go about making something like this tick over from the raw terminal?

Thanks a-bunch a-gain!

That will only send one "Y". If the pipelined process asks for confirmation more than once, it will hang.

@all:

Thanks for dropping by Smilie

I've now tried:
Code:
yes dpkg-reconfigure --frontend=readline --terse -plow unattended-upgrades

Code:
yes | dpkg-reconfigure --frontend=readline --terse -plow unattended-upgrades

Code:
echo "Y" | dpkg-reconfigure --frontend=readline --terse -plow unattended-upgrades

Code:
echo Y | dpkg-reconfigure --frontend=readline --terse -plow unattended-upgrades

Code:
echo Y > dpkg-reconfigure --frontend=readline --terse -plow unattended-upgrades

Code:
yes "Y" | dpkg-reconfigure --frontend=readline --terse -plow unattended-upgrades

Code:
yes Y | dpkg-reconfigure --frontend=readline --terse -plow unattended-upgrades

Code:
dpkg-reconfigure --frontend=readline --terse -plow unattended-upgrades yes

Code:
dpkg-reconfigure --frontend=readline --terse -plow unattended-upgrades yes y

...and even
Code:
yes --help

along with
Code:
man yes

and carbon powder-dipped cat's whiskers, and it still looks at me silly Smilie

???

Thanks again --

One more for the books:
Code:
dpkg-reconfigure --frontend=readline --terse -plow unattended-upgrades <<< $'y'

(still not working)

As we've seen, I can't even get the required "y" to this...
