Hi Guys,

I am executing the script called Delet.sh manually it is successfully completing the task but it is failing to run vi cron tab, I tried to pass PATH & .profile before execution but no luck, Any suggestions?

Script below

Code:
#!/usr/bin/ksh
#set -x
# Purpose : Delete folders file from all PRD servers

###########################################################
#Sourcing Parameter file
###########################################################
#SHELL=/usr/bin/ksh
#Export PATH=/usr/bin:/usr/ucb:/etc:/usr/sbin:/sbin:/bin:/utl/sh:/usr/local/bin:/usr/ccs/bin:/utl/bin:/usr/bin/nsr
/web/.profile

. ./Parameter_Test.ini || { echo "file not loaded"; exit -1 ;}
_date=$(date +'%d%b')
_path="$DESTINATION"
_script=$(basename $0 .sh)
_log=$_path/log
_hostname=$(uname -a | awk '{print $2}')
#_logname="$_log/${_script}.${_hostname}.${_date}_delete.log"
realscript="RemoteCall.sh"

no=1

mkdir -p $_log > /dev/null 2>&1

chmod 777 $_log > /dev/null 2>&1
exec 1>> $_logname
exec 2>> $_logname

echo "Processing please wait $date"
for x in $(echo $server)
do
   eval scptring=\$remote$no
   delocation=$(echo $scptring | cut -d":" -f1)
   depath=$(echo $scptring | cut -d":" -f2)
   echo "export DELETION=$depath" > deletion.ini
   scp -CBqp deletion.ini ${delocation}:~
   ssh $delocation 'bash -s' < "$realscript"
   #ssh -q $delocation 'cat | bash /dev/stdin' "$depath" < "$realscript"
   [[ $? -eq 0 ]] & { echo " three days old directory gets deleted";}
   unset scptring delocation depath

Hi,

Is there anything in the file "$_logname" which I notice is commented out so assume it is set in an other script.

Can you post the output please.

Regards

Dave

Below is the o/p in log file
"DISPLAY=:0.0

\n\n\t Type in ./menu to get the executable menu now
file not loaded "

If I comment #/web/.profile then I am getting "file not loaded" only

Hi,

The first obvious thing - well it seems obvios based on the information that you've provided is that the cript is only getting this far.

Code:
. ./Parameter_Test.ini || { echo "file not loaded"; exit -1 ;}

So not finding the Parameter_Test.ini file.

Do you have any support on site?

Regards

Dave

I got Parameter_Test.ini & RemoteCall.sh scripts under the same path "web/sh", only the problem is it not executing the script via cron job, when I run it manually it is deleting the folders on different servers based on my .Parameter_Test.ini
