I need to convince my manager that we need to install plink
Why? In posting #1 you said you can install free software and AFAIK plink is free software just like putty Smilie

(something like plink.exe ssh server1 /logs/websphere/jvm1/Sysout.log > /local/tmp.txt
Im assuming this is possible via plink rite.
Right. Maybe you will need to polish your syntax though.
Code:
plink -l username -pw password server1 cat /path/to/logfile.log > C:\TEMP\temp.txt

In posting #20 you are mainly talking about the GUI, so I'll skip that. In general it's doable, but - right now - you should only concentrate on how to get the data on your Windows box and plink is one possibility.

Also consider following approaches:
  • You collect everything you need on your "main server" regularly (cron job) and publish it through apache on the same server (no need for Java GUI)
  • You collect everything you need on your "main server" regularly (cron job) and PSFTP it (triggered by a GUI button) to your Windows box and in further consequence your Java program parses it and displays the content in a GUI text-box or something.
  • Using plink, but extend the example I mentioned above. On server1 you build a script, e.g. collectdata.sh, in this script you have all commands which will get data from other servers. It will work best if you exchange ssh keys with all servers you want to collect data from. Then you simply run
Code:
plink -l username -pw password server1 ./collectdata.sh > C:\TEMP\temp.txt

where collectdata.sh looks something like
Code:
some command to run directly on server1
ssh username@server2 somecommand
ssh username@server3 somecommand
ssh username@server4 somecommand
...

Yeah , but in order to install any software onto my system, i need to have permission and manager has to approve it.

I was having the 3rd approach in mind. Getting data into local machine txt files by running multiple commands in one script on linux server and then using this data to display whatever needed on GUI Screen. Thanks a lot

To reiterate, you do not need to install plink. You download the exe file and you have it. There is no "installation" step, just "download" and "run".
