How to list only directories?

How to list directories (not sub-directories) from a given path?

Hi, i'm a novice. But I believe (please, someone correct me if I am doing it wrong since I am doing this on my behalf and no one else): ls -l | grep '^d' .. should work ?

Found in search in this thread - shows directories but not recursively - ls -l | grep "^d"
