Tools MakeFile

Hey everybody,

This may be stup*d question for you, but i am new in unix and i wonder how can i make the rules for translating and linking my .c "primjer1.c", "primjer2.c" and "primjer3.c" in makefile.

Thank you.

Like most other script files, what you do with it really depends on what you want to do.

Code:
# Stuff I need to put in flags for compile step
CFLAGS=...
# Stuff I need to put in flags for linking step
LDFLAGS=...

primjer1.o:primjer1.c
primjer2.o:primjer2.c
primjer3.o primjer3.c

output:primjer1.o primjer2.o primjer3.o
        $(CC) $(LDFLAGS) primjer1.o primjer2.o primjer3.o -o $@

Note that whenever I have posted 8 leading spaces, it should be (and MUST be) a single tab to work in a makefile.

And now lets say if i change "primjer2.c" source code, i have to change makefile too? If yes how should i do that?

No, make should detect which things have changed by their timestamps and rebuild accordingly (when you run make of course).

It knows that y.o comes from y.c, and that 'output' needs y.o... So if it sees a change in y.c, it will rebuild y.o and output.

In the end it was something like:

FLAGS = -O2 -Wall
FILES = primjer1.c primjer2.c primjer3.c
all : primjer1.c primjer1.c primjer3.c
gcc $(FLAGS) $(FILES) -o program
main.o : main.c
gcc -c -Wall main.c
clean :
rm -f *.o *~

.c.o:
gcc $(FLAGS) $<

Thank you for help.

You appear to have copied the rules without understanding as half of them are useless here.
