Solaris 10: WU-FTPD Configuration Problems

Hello.
I'm currently usng Solaris 10 and have to configure the box so that it acts as an FTP server handling multiple virtual domains. This should be done using wu-ftpd.

I have successfully configured the box to be able to handle multiple virtual FTP servers, and all works well when I log in as the anonymous user. For example, I have the following functionality:

For simplicities sake, assume I have the following directory structure for my two virtual ftp servers:

/data/ftp/virtual-server1/
/data/ftp/virtual-server2/

Now, when I log into virtual-server1 as the anonymous user, I am CHROOT'd to the /data/ftp/virtual-server1/ directory.
Similarly, when I log into virtual-server2 as the anonymous user, I am CHROOT'd to the /data/ftp/virtual-server2/.

My problem is that I am not allowed to use the anonymous user, but must still simulate the behaviour of the anonymous user by CHROOT'ing my user to the root directory of whatever virtual FTP server I log into. A further requirement is that I am only allowed one generic user that will be used to log into all virtual FTP servers (not my choice, but is the requirement).

Therefore, I have set up an FTP-only account, ftpuser, but am unable to see how I can configure FTP so that if ftpuser logs in to virtual-server1, they are CHROOT'd to /data/ftp/virtual-server1/, and similarly if the same ftpuser logs in to virtual-server2, they are CHROOT'd to /data/ftp/virtual-server2/.

The best I can achieve is to configure ftpuser as a guest user meaning they get CHROOT'd to whatever home directory is set-up for ftpuser within the /etc/passwd file.

Does anyone know if what I am trying to achive is possible, or would I need to configure one user per virtual FTP server in order to achive the CHROOT functionality I require?

You can't do it - not your fault or WU-FTP fault. The 'requirements' are at fault. They are asking for a generic user to be the same as anonymous user (since it's suppose to be able to access anything) - best thing you could do is set that ftpuser to go into /data/ftp and let the folks that came up with the requirements figure out where to cd down to. Or let them know they don't know what they are talking about - especially since they want one generic account (which is just like the anonymous account). Hmm, let me step down off my soap box now. (if you haven't guessed it, I ran into the same type of thing - they ended up with individual accounts into the different directory structures. I simply told them what they wanted was not possible and gave them what they could do)
