Dual Displays

I have a TV and a monitor hooked up to my box. Right now the system is displaying all the information on the TV instead of the monitor, obviously I want to switch this, as the TV is very impracticle for everything other than watching movies.

I thought I remembered a command I used to use that switched the default display monitor, I am not sure though.

Does anyone have any ideas how I can switch the default monitor? An easy and quick way would be best so I can switch back and forth between the TV and monitor.

Several X drivers for cards with the various TV-out & VGA-out configurations have unique xorg.conf Option options which allow you to chose the output. I recomend looking up the man page for your particular driver for more information.

Google is your friend for this one. Do a search for your exact make and model of card, "tv-out" and your exact major version of X. Something like this

Google
| "xorg 6.8" xorg.conf "geforce4 mx1000" tv-out |

You're looking for someone else's working xorg.conf Smilie
