install new certificate(s) in a unix cluster - is restart needed?

Dear All..........

if anyone can help me with a problem i'm facing Smilie.......i will be really grateful!!!Smilie

If i install a new certificate in a cluster (2 machines) should it be restarted the whole cluster? A separate restart per server is it enough? My main query is if a restart is needed?

After searching on the internet i haven't found anything similar.

Thank you all for your thoughts and your assistance....!

We need more info. What kind of cluster? What kind of OS? What is the purpose of the certificate?

Hello Otheus,

OS is solaris, SUN servers. The certificates are needed in order to communicate 2 different sys. Both systems belong to the same intranet.

The system which needs the new certificate is the client and will have to retrieve and write info to the other system. Due to the fact that the cluster is new and quite unstable we must be very careful and we should do very delicate actions. We should know tthe exact impact.

Thank you very very very much for your response. Hoping that i've helped you as much as i can. :-)

I very much doubt that a new certificate will require any sort of reboot. It might be the case that a specific process needs to be restarted, but then you ought to know which process or service uses these certifcates.
