PLs be more specific, using code tags if need be: What systems (local and remote) are you talking about, which product do you use for RDP, do you have network file systems around? XCOPY sounds like DOS/Windows to me?

Before attempting a file copy over RDP make sure that your local drive is shared and is available in a session.

Now identify the shared drive letter from Windows Explorer on the remote computer and perform the copy.

i want to copy a file from Windows sever to my local hard drive.
i can manually copy the file giving the path using RUN.

\\Wsapp1234.srv.dir.unix.com\f$

but i want to copy automatically by using scheduled tasks or any scripts. any idea how to do that...let me know if you need any details...

You can setup a scheduled task using a batch file. Google it and you will find instructions to do this.

I guess that bipinajith is trying to tell you is that by typing:
"setup a scheduled task using a batch file"
on Google, the first link will be like....:
Code:
http://www.howtogeek.com/51236/how-to-create-modify-and-delete-scheduled-tasks-from-the-command-line/

And it may help you Smilie.
looks like more a Windows kind of thing?
Sorry if that is not what you were asking.

Regards.
