Lightbulb help on find

hello,

Need to write a scirpt which searches for file only in specified directory.
With find command i tried but it goes to sub-directories also.

My OS is sun solaris 5.8

I saw -depth option present in man, but it i am not too sure about it usage.
Need to know how to turn this -depth option off.

Thanks in Advance.

Rishi

Code:
#!/bin/ksh
# find files with extention '.awk' in the CURRENT directory WITHOUT recursive
# decent into sub-directories.

find . ! -name . -prune -type f -name '*.awk'

Why do you have to use find? Why not use a file test?

Code:
if [ -f /path/to/the/file/$FILE ]
 then
   echo "File Exists."
  else
   echo "File Not Found"
fi

Thanks Vgersh99,
It really worked. Smilie

Please also help me to understand it. Smilie
Like what "!" will do?
and why we have used -name twice?

Thanks
