VERITAS Volume Manager - mirror a disk/volume

I have a machine (5.10 Generic_142900-03 sun4u sparc SUNW,Sun-Fire-V210) that we are upgrading the storage and my task is to mirror what is already on the machine to the new disk. I have the disk, it is labeled and ready but I am not sure of the next steps to mirror the existing diskgroup and volume. Below is the diskgroup and volume information. I have some VERITAS mirror commands in my notes, but I am not sure of the proper steps or preparation to start the process.

/dev/vx/dsk/share-dg/sharevol
35G 14G 19G 43% /local/ftpdata1

(existing) emcpower3s2 auto:cdsdisk share-dg01 share-dg online shared
(new replacement) emcpower4s2 auto:none - - online invalid

mirror an existing volume
# vxassist mirror <volumename> <diskname_of_disk_to_be_mirrored>

mirror all volumes within a disk group
# vxmirror -g <diskgroup> -a

Thank you for any help,

rookieuxixsa

Is this not the right place for this request? I find it odd that no one has any comments on what i am trying to accomplish.

man vxmirror says never use it, use the gui: https://www.unix.com/man-page/All/1m/vxmirror/

My tutorial says one volume for vxassist, but maybe it is an attribute?: Veritas Volume Manager
