Is there any way of splitting the script (Noob Here).

I m writing a script to check Server Hardening.
The problem is whenever i add new point it grows and it become very tedious to edit the script file.

Is there any way of making them separate and call them from one base script?

Is it possible to define global variable that can be accessed via all the scripts?

Never done this kind of scripting little reference would be appreciated.
(The idea come to my mind while watching the execution of lynis tool the scripts were given different tasks and all were called from a main base script)

You can call one script from other script, exported variables will be accessable to the child script.

Are you looking to run multiple concurrent processes as well? If so, you may want to look into ksh coprocesses.

Here's a website with more info.

Yeap, as pointed before, spawn'd processed (child) will inherit parent env vars if its attached to current context with ".".

Little example
test1.sh=>
test=test44
echo $test
./test2.sh &
. ./test2.sh &

test2.sh
echo "test2 => $test"

Coprocesses
I dont want to run them as concurrent i just want to call another script from a main script and once the execution of the child script is complete then the control should return to parent script.

Just call the script like you would any other program (assuming the eXecutable bit is set). As stated above, exported variables will be available, but the only way to get data back from the other script is either output to stdout/stderr, or the return code.
