Raid Dell

Hello all,

I'm new to RAID and would like to know if anyone had works with Dell PERC3 RAID controller. I'm having a problem install the driver on REDHAT AS 3.0. All the drivers from dell only support up to AS 2.1. Does anyone know if the controller is from LSI Logic. If so which mode?

I'm trying to find something that I can use to monitor the actives of the RAID drive, i.e if SCSI fail or is rebuilding.

Thanks

try http://forum.eserviceinfo.com/
they have the manuals and answers to anything electonics related and more.. no need to register.

Is this any use? Says it includes binaries for "Redhat AS 3.0 BETA"

Cheers

Thanks guys,

I was able to install the driver, but the interface is a command line. I was hoping for a more GUI interface. Does anyone have something like that for free.

i know if you access some types of config files you'll get gui interface.. forinstance if you go to TTY1 F1 terminal on your system not in the gui terminal ! and locate and type aumix ( should cd to /usr/share/aumix then type aumix ((might be in a different dir on your system)) you should get gui volume and balance control in terminal.. if you get this equivilant then you should have it installed on the gui desktop also..
basically you should find some kind of gui in the config files (a) ;
(b) if you are interacting with the utillity itself from the text based interface and have a gui desktop it must be in there somewhere or have an equivilant... sounds confusing but i am pretty sure that you have the gui based equivilant on your gui desktop....
if you don't have a gui desktop you will have to download enlightened or metacity etc then prompt startx from gui.. its a difficult procedure i had to go through it last year with redhat 6.0 which is a 98' redhat version.. and did not succeed. anyway like I said depending on what you mean by gui and text based interface.. everything or just the utlity you can always revert to gui in the config files in text mode terminal..
