[SOLVED] mysql.sock is missing..

mysql.sock file is missing in /opt/lampp/etc/ is there any backup file available in unix...
since without that file .. project is not opening..

reply me as soon as possible ...

You don't need a backup of the socket file Smilie
Either the mysqld daemon is down or you're pointing to the wrong path.

mysql_upgrade_info ...

now i resolved the error some wat .. shall i change the mode of
"mysql_upgrade_info "

to chmod 777 mysql_upgrade_info

now it is -rw-r--r--

i have this problem

then..

$ /etc/init.d/mysqld status
mysqld (pid 16346) is running...

after stopping my lampp .. then stopping mysqld ...
if i restart lampp
am getting

XAMPP : couldn't start Mysql ..

please give me the reason..

I suppose that either you need to configure your LAMPP installation to use your existing mysql instance or you should directly use the one included in the LAMPP package.

Could you post the content of the mysql log file in the /opt/lampp/var/mysql directory ?

Did you try to start the services as root (if you're not logged as root already):
