Sun Patch Pro

Anyone using this? Is it any good for managing patches?

I downloaded and installed patch pro 2.2 from sun's site. After installation it gives URL's. I went to the URL:
httpSmilieatchpro.sun.com/servlet/com.sunpatchpro.server.patchproserverservlet/ (https)

then i clicked on the link for patch pro-expert. This scanned my computer for reccomended?? patches or all availble patches?

I don't know but it gave a list of a lot of patches I know I don't need. Did I need to install patch pro in order to use patch pro expert scan or are they 2 separate programs and I still haven't used patch pro 2. yet?

Can someone help explain the basics of PPro 2.2 and if it's any good? If not,..then other then installing cluster(which I already did) what's the preferred patch method?

Thanks.

I just found the doc and commands for patchpro 2.2.

It appears that if I open a browser and goto the web page it is a GUI of patch pro(patchproexpert) and if I use command line and enter commands "pprosetup -H" and "smpatch analyze" I get the same results but cmd line.

The GUI looks convienent because you can click on the readme and get details about the patch quickly. Only thing is I just installed the reccomended cluster patch and it still list a slew in patch pro.

anyone offer any advice on patch management// or using patchpro or not?

Am I correct in my findings or is there more?

Thanks.
