need help in fixing the hangup issue due to nohup command
Hi All,
I am very new to unix and to this forum.Suggest me a solution in fixing the below issue.

Actually ia m executing java program through script.
The command is like
java pgm &

The above cmd runs the java program continuous as a background thread.
This script is executed from a perl script which is in another system.
The script is executed successfully.but the perl script which calls this script hangs.please suggest me a solution on how to overcome this hanging issue.

Without seeing the code it will be quite difficult.. (how is done the transfer of information from remote to host?)

Issue with nohup command

Hi everyone, I am starting a nohup from a script (via scheduling system) as follows: ssh user@server "nohup command & ; exit 0" This command is not returning the command prompt untless I press "ENTER". rm & mv command failed due to too many files.

In our directory there are too many files, & if I try to execute mv *.gz or rm *.l command it fails, providing error string as - 'arg list too long'.
