Googling your error message suggests that this is a mail setup issue in a version of sendmail which is alien to me. I wonder if your mail relay server is actually Linux or BSD not HP-UX and that the error message from the relay server is being recorded in mail.log ?

Suggest you tabulate the error messages making it clear where the message is recorded and on which computer and tell your support people.


There is a similar fault mentioned on this website with a suggested solution but it would be pure speculation to say that this matched your problem.

mailx error message : mailx: NUL changed to @

If I use the "Mail" link instead of the "mail" link to ../mailx I get this error. Mail so-n-so @whatever.com mailx: NUL changed to @ Unknown command: "postmaster" The email still goes through but i get the error. If I use "mail" it goes thru without the error. Any ideas?? (2 Replies)
