MySQL PWD COMMAND

Hi,

Can you tell me if there is a command such as pwd which does not give me the absolute NFS pathname i.e. it starts with .autofs? At the moment on the unix when I use the 'pwd' command it always gives me the nfs pathname rather thanthe local pathname of which is what i want, is there an option with pwd or another command to get around this?

ThanksSmilie

Show a complete path as reported by pwd, and what you'd like it to be, please? I don't think you can change how pwd works but it may be simple to convert its path output to what you want.

Have you tried basename $0

Yet another way would be to pipe pwd to sed like this:

Code:
pwd | sed 's/\w*\///g'

If this works for you then you can set this as an alias. But I like the previous suggestion using basename.

Code:
basename `pwd`

Hi,

Thanks for your reply. I have tried the sed but this doesn't work, it just simply chops off the slashes. Meanwhile I'm unsure what you mean by basename $0 and how do I incoporate it on the command line i.e.

$basename $0 ?????

Meanwhile, the path I keep getting is:

/.autofs/adler01/home/mypath

BUT

I only want the local path i.e. /home/mypath

Thanks
