Question Using "find" in restricted directories

Hi,
I would like to know is there any way to find/search filenames or directories inside the directories which has resticted permission.
When we use normal "find" command it returns "permission denied" message for the root directories or directories with restricted permissions.

Thanks

I doubt you could do that.
If you dont have permission, you can't.
Whereas you can direct the error messages to /dev/null in your find command to make it look nice.

Code:

find [options] 2> /dev/null

This should skip the "permission denied" error messages from being displayed on stdout.

Unless you are a super user, you cannot do.

Then why should we call that a restriction, if you can do ?!

Suppress the error as suggested above. But you cannot enter into it to search.
