Question Display result one page at a time
hi

how can i display the result on the screen one page at a time?

say i search for .txt files and return the result on the screen one page at a time.

Try piping to more.

Example:

ls -l | more

will give the results of an ls -l comand one screen at a time.

or use "less" instead of "more", which is a bit more versatile (you can move up and move down).

Additionally you can use "less" and "more" without a pipe.

Say for example that you wanted to read a large text file called "bigfile", you could either enter "more bigfile" or "less bigfile" (without the quotes of course).

how about displaying each file name on the screen one page at a time?

like i type ls, and i have 3 files, how does it display 1.txt, and i press enter or space or whatever, then displays 2.txt, then i press another key, and display 3.txt ?
