setting username and password for ftp

hi,

i have set up an FTP server in one of our systems. could some one tell me the procedure to set up the username and password for it to enable other users to access the server.

It depends a lot on what FTP server you're using; but in my experience, FTP servers use the sysem login info instead of reinventing the wheel with their own login database.
