Hi,

Is there way to resize the partition tables?
I want to make host 1 exactly same as host2.
This involves decrasing/increasing the size of the partitions.
The above are system disk partitions.
I was asked to build host 1 exactly like Host 2 after I have installed the solaris 9 on Host 1.

Please help me.

Thanks.

Reinstall

You will need to reinstall the OS to accomplish your goal. If you resize the slices, it will corrupt the data if it is mounted.

How do I do it while installing.
I can re-install..but I need to have exact partitions as Host 2.
Does install allow me to give block/cylinders when I use the custom option as opposed default.
If you see host 2..Swap started with 0-3220 ans so on.
Please help on this.

Thanks.

Yes you can change the layout of your partition table during your install

which OS exactly are you on???

If your OS allows you to use LVM then best option will be to reinstall the distribution and while installing you should use LVM for creating partitions so that in future if you want to change the slice size then you can do it without reinstalling OS.
