Hi,
I have installed gmake 3.82 in my aix 5.3 system.
but while installing a package,after doing./configure ,i give gmake and its throwing below error.

# gmake
"build/Makefile.rules", line 13: make: 1254-055 Dependency line needs colon or double colon operator.

also the command is not working

gmake: Not a recognized flag: -
usage: make [-einqrst] [-k|-S] [-d[A|adg[1|2]mstv]] [-D variable] [-f makefile ]

but i can see it installed in /usr/bin ,where 1st is ibm compliler make and 2nd is gnu make.

i already declared the variable export MAKE=/usr/bin/gmake ..plz sugest
