Help with cpio
Hi all,
Please help me with the extraction of files from a cpio. what I mean is basically I have received a file from someone i.e rooh.cpio. this file rooh.cpio contains various files in it. I want to know how I can extract the files and copy them to a different directory . Your quick responce will be highly appreciated. Thanks. Rooh. |

Try:
cd /directory/where/you/want/files cat rooh.cpio | cpio -icd i tells it to extract the files c is used for portability between different machines d tells it to create directories as needed If it doesn't work, try taking the c option out and run it again. |
