It sounds like the boot sector is outside the 1024 cylinder region.
Is your root directory on the first partition? Are you dual booting and have SCO on another HD?

Basically you need the boot sector inside 1024 on the first partition of your HD.

Hope this helps.

Also, please only post one time - you have three different post dealing with the same subject - you need to read the responses and realize that the information you have been given is correct.

Post one Post two

On one thread you post that the link I gave you didn't have the answer - not true. You cannot 'fix' your problem as is - if you did not create the boot filesystem in accordance with both the OS and BIOS, then it's going to fail. The 'fix' is to do it again and get the 20MB of info into the first 1024 cylinders.

(From the posted link)
$1. Is there any way around this problem?

Your boot filesystem defaults to 20 MB. This, plus a little
bit of stuff that comes before it (divvy table, boot loader, etc.),
need to reside in the first 1024 cylinders, so you'll need slightly
more than 20 MB free there. The rest can follow from cylinders
1024 onwards without problems.

PCUNIX FAQ - 1023 cylinder boot

(I would also suggest that you insure you have a good backup of your Windows 98 or have the software )
