telnet login

I am having a problem logging into my SUN box.

When i telnet to the box, i dont get as far as the login/password bit - instead i have the following appear on my screen:

telnetd: could not grant slave pty

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated...

From SunSolve:

It is possible that the /dev/pts symbolic links to the /devices/pseudo
files are missing or corrupt.

Running /usr/sbin/devlinks or performing a reconfiguration boot,
using boot -r, will recreate the symbolic links.

I was able to shut the box down, and restart it. There was corruption on my / filesystem. Cleaned this up and and now able to telnet in.
