Deleting ext3
Partition Magic does provide greater management capability of linux filesystems and I know PM8 does allow this function (not sure on PM7). If a full re-install is an option then Disk Druid (or fdisk) will enable you to delete the ext3 filesystem as well as make most any other additional filesystem mod that you require at the initial phase of the install.
