Question new install

hi people,

what is the directory to install oracle database ?

To create a user except root, what is the home directory to specify to accept the installation?

what is the right path to get the installation?

i stock in this point, thus if you can explain ASAP when you see this message
i will appreciate very much.

thanks

"what is the directory to install oracle database ? "

You should put it in the default location specified by the software. You can create a link to a different partition if more space is needed.

"To create a user except root, what is the home directory to specify to accept the installation? "

Get with your System Administrator - most places have policies for where the home directories will be. If this is a home grown project, then a suggestion is /export/home/ (/export/home/oracle).

"what is the right path to get the installation? "

Not sure what you mean - are you talking about the path to the software installation? If so, what media is it on (tape, cdrom)?

Also, post which OS you are using and version.

First, get with the system admin to correct any permission problems or have the SA help with the pre-installation portion.

Orasolaris.org may be useful for you in the pre-installation, installation, and planning.
