Dear All,
Someone please help me.. I can't afford to lose the luster from my precious RedHat Linux 7.3 install (which I was able to accomplish painstaking efforts!).. Here is my problem... I don't know why this is happening... but whenever I'm booting into my RHL 7.3 partition on my laptop, I'm getting only a text mode logon... I've poked into /etc/inittab in the same text mode and it sure contains this line... id:5:initdefault: so no problem on that end it seems... Could anybody please throw some light why I'm not getting my usual X11 gui logon screen? Thanks a lot! Cheers! Vishnu. |

thanks a lot PxT, but alas I grew imapatient - backed up and re-installed my RHL 7.3, and it has taken care of every thing... also it nicely preserved my xp partition...
now I'm doing a research as to why it happened... and also studying the usage of x11 commands including the one you suggested... Thanks again! Vishnu. |
