drwaing "charts" out of console

Hello all

not sure where to post this answer, will try it here.
i want to make a graphical overview how long the different backup groups have run.

(we have like 30-40 backup groups running and a graphical overview would be usefull).
Getting the times out of the logfiles etc should not be a problem.

but i have no idea how to draw these graphics.
its heavy to me to descriibe but the plan is to have timeline on the X-axis
and then draw in the different groups.

should look like this:

(just to be sure you know what i mean).

i am pretty free which tools etc i use.. (just should be able to compile it under solaris :-) )
is there any tool(kit) whatever i can use?

i have "small" c++ expirence.. any easy to use libs around?

first time i am doing such things.. though.. asking for some tips cant be that wrong.

greets
Baz
