Question Stop Printing Please

what is the fastest approach to kill a print job ? if the lpstat command does not show the print job id ....

If lpstat does not show anything, you may be out of luck. Some printers have very big buffers. The printer may have sucked in the entire file. There may be some front panel options on the printer itself. If not, power off the printer. That should stop it from printing.

Thumbs down turning off

i triede turning off the printer , but when i turn it back on it starts printing again from where it left off .... i've tried disabling the status of the printer ... just keeps printing ... non stop :-( ...

cubicle^dweller,

I had the same problem with my printer. It required me to shut the printer off and reboot the system. That cleared just about everything that was buffered.

i was forced to do that ... but shud'nt there be another better approach to this issue ?
