Unhappy sendmail problems - no man pages

Hi all,

I have a virtual dedicated unix server somewhere (not sure we can put names, so ain't putting it yet )

anyway, I have problems using sendmail, but before I am asking for help, I don't get ANY manpages for sendmail on my machine.

I would like to try and solve this on my own (the sendmail issue), but for now, if anyone can tell me the following:
1. Where to get the manpages from?
2. Where to put them on my machine?
3. does the sendmail version matters? and how do I find my version?

I went to sendmail.org (faq and site), and didn't find that info.
Thank you for now

Wink man pages

Manpages can be in diferent locations.
Take a look at your PATH and MANPATH variables.
>echo $PATH
provides your overall path on where to find programs
>echo $MANPATH
provides the path to find MAN Pages

Often these are set during initial login, in a .profile file or similar. They can be added to, or changed.

Thanks joeyg,

# echo $PATH
//bin:/usr/local/bin:/bin:/usr/bin:/usr/sbin:/home/opadmin/bin
# echo $MANPATH
//man:
#

however, I can't CD to man, don't have it under root, or anyother profile.

? where can I download the man pages ?
? how to find out which sendmail version I use now?

thanks

that's all I get.
