Writing in Japanese or differet languages
Hi. I am running Redhat 8. I am trying to get my system to write in Japanese. I can choose the Japanese language for the system to display, but I cannot figure out how to write in Japanese. Primarily, I want to write Japanese in the brower (Mozilla 1.01). Example: writing email using Yahoo or Hotmail, or entering a search on a web site in Japanese. I have set up my system, and Mozilla (including the menu and web pages) to display Japanese. I have the language packs installed/selected for both. I have changed the keyboard setting to Japanese, but it didn't do anything. ??? I have searched Redhat, Mozilla, and Unix.com, but cannot find the appropriate info I need. If someone could get me pointed in the right place, or answer in full, it would help me greatly. This is not for a quiz or school. Thanks.

Re: Writing in Japanese or differet languages
You will need to install an XIM server, like kinput2.
This is for SuSE, but hopefully you will get some insights from it: http://www.suse.de/~mfabian/suse-cjk/suse-cjk.html |
